B52 crash
Having just returned from the excellent BMFA Nationals at Braxston Heath were there was some superb flying marred only by the very sad crash of the superb B52.

Has anyone heard any info of the cause of the crash, was it the gusty wind or mechanical failure

I assume following the significant fire there is little liklehood of much salvage

Yep, I was there.
Total write off, no salvage, Skitbags from WLM was helping to collect the debris when I phoned him after I saw the smoke.crashed into a farmers garden.
The info I was told.
C.A.A will now be involved.
Was not mechanical or radio.
Was REALLY windy
Scale for scale ailerons do not work too well when over a 20 degree bank.

Damn unlucky.

I couldnt find any working links there, but Vic has some wideos on his site that he posted in another topic a few days ago. I've repeated the links here for others.

first one shows how close it is to the farmhouse, but the second one is a better vid

Vic

The plane just turned left and nosed straight in, almost like it lost all control or at lest of the ailerons...

Wasnt it close to that house, do we know if people lived there or was it a farm building/shed?
