Hi have aquired a Boomerang trainer the engine seems mint. When I turn the plane on & TX on the controls dont work properly. the half that do are the wrong way around & the TX that came with it doesn't have reverse input on. I was wondering if the RX is faulty. It seems my low skill can't work out what to do with it. I may try a new plane battery.
I was thinking of taking it in to a model shop for repaires but this could proove very expensive. I can seem to move the rudder & half the elevaters but nothing else. maybe the servos are shot? I could always take it down to the flying club to see what the old boys say.

I would think the TX that came with it is not the one used to set it all up. Your suggestion of taking it down the club is probably the best, as there are so many interacting problems here that it would be very difficult to advise without seeing it.

Most likely the TX has been used on a different plane, I take it that its a non-computer type. It should just need setting up.

Start at the beginning and make sure that all servo leads/extensions are plugged in. Those servos that don't seem to be working swap them over to a channel that does at the RX end for a quick test.

The servos that are going in the wrong direction need the reversing switch flicked. The ailerons (two servos) will need the aileron function switching on or a Y-Lead. If you have two servos operating the elevator again such a function will need to be switched on.

What TX is it? Having the manual for it will help.

It's a Hitec with Hitec Servos & TX. What you said makes sense. The Tranny doesn't have rerverse settings on it. I might have a spare futaba 6ch rx knocking about but I'll have to swop the servos too. I'm sure we'll wprk it out. Not sure if it's going to be a spare plane, might just sell her on.
