| RE: Deans T plug with handy grip cover ...I switched to EC3 and EC5 connectors a while back. Find them easier to solder, higher current capacity (EC5) and no or less sparking (deans/bullet connectors). Better insualtion on the connectors too with the plastic covering and easier to pull apart thanks to the larger, gripped handle. An overall better connector imo. To repeat what others have said, requires education; to challenge it, requires brains. | |||

| RE: Deans T plug with handy grip cover There was an interesting mod on RCG which used a wooden clothes peg and two panel pins to make a simple tool for separating deans connectors. You had to mod each connector as well using a tiny drill bit to make locator holes for the panel pins, so I can see how it could be a bit of a drag if you had a LOT of them, but it looked a pretty obvious solution to a stupid problem... ![]() I like EC connectors for aircraft and 4mm bullets for cars - the latter only because the entire industry seems to have started embedding them into hard-cased lipos... | RE: Deans T plug with handy grip cover The only problem I have with Deans type plugs is the spring tongue gets flattened or sticks out instead of a nice V form. So all I do then is slip a watchmakers screw driver blade under mid-part and then squeeze with small pliers ... to recreate the V. Pulling apart and connecting ... only time I have trouble is when winters here and it drops to the -20's etc. - then to be honest it's too cold hands to grip whatever connector you have. My bag of Deans type connectors is about $8 for 20 sets ... can't see me paying more than that ........ Most of the crash is fine - it's the last mm and second that's not !....
