Electric free flight
I went over Hanworth Airpack this afternoon to fly my newly built electric free flight Mitey.

There was virtually no wind so I had lots of flights without having to run a marathon in retrieves!
It is running on a cheap bell motor and controller and 2 LiPo cells
through a FlytProf-Lite free flight controller.
I'm also finishing off a Veron Deacon which be electric F/F too.

Mark.

The power set up is quite basic really. A bell motor, RobotBirds ESC and 2 Lipolys. The F/F controller is the clever bit. The ESC plugs into the controller and with it you can set the motor power, motor run time and glide time to D/T. The D/T is operated by a servo which plugs into the unit.I don't have D/T on the Mitey.
A review is on the SAM 35 site here http://www.sam35.org/id104.html

You can get one from http://www.omegaco.demon.co.uk/mechome.htm

Electric free flight
Today I must have flown in excess of 20 flights between 4pm and sunset, this system is just so convenient. I had 2 battery packs with me, one had been used for some bench running so was not fully charged but it was used for most of the flights. After the first couple of successful flights I called Bloggs and he came over with a glider, I started with a 10 second motor run and then re-programmed the unit to 15 seconds then 30 and finally a minute.
The convenience / ease of use of this system combined with the lack of noise is great. Also as IC free flight is not permitted in Hanworth Airpark it will save driving to Chobham for a quick fix.
