I'd check out some more clubs, normally you will find someone to take you in and show you the ropes.

You maybe able to find some more clubs at http://www.bmfa.org

RE: FLYING TRAINING (FIXED WING)
When you first start 10 minutes is a long time.

A trainer aircraft may have fuel for only about ten minutes of flight. When I first started to learn the concentration necessary meant that ten minutes felt like a couple of hours.

Please remember that the folk who train novices in clubs do so as volunteers, and lose their time to do their thing, in order to do the training. Not only that, but there are some time wasters out there, who are not happy to take instruction. Instruction can be a thankless task.

That said, find a club where you feel comfortable, where you fit in. Go and watch them fly. Make yourself known. Then you may find that instructors may be more able to give their time.
