Right then, I'll get this one going!
I love slope soaring, in fact I've been scratching around at Mill hill in Shoreham today. The lift was pretty much non existent but it was still fun.
So lets have your favourite slope sites, you never know we may find one or two we didn't know before.
I think my vote would have to go to Ivinghoe Beacon, probably just because I've flown there more than anywhere else. It flys most directions and the main slope has a huge top landing area. I'm not a member of the club there but I've always found the 'locals' very friendly.
Another would be Rhosilli in South Wales. Although I've only flown there a couple of times when on holliday there last year, it was great flying above the beach looking out to sea. You can fly and walk along the long ridge for quite a way, like a very easy cross country!
Right then lets have yours, and if you've never been sloping you don't know what you're missing!

Mark.

My fave Slope sites

The Beacon - Newbury - SW & E
Ladle hill - Newbury - W
Coombe Jibbet - Newbury - (cant remember..!)
Watership Down - Newbury - N & NW

And there are 3 hills in Marlborough that I cannot remember the name of..!!Exclamation]

The Headland at Newquay is good, you have a good battle with the Gulls, and to land you have to walk across the road to land on the Golf course..! ( you get some very strange looks.!)plus there is a large grassy mound in the Golfcourse you can slope a HLG off..!!

I don't have crashes, just mid-airs with the planet.............

The only St Agnes I've been to is about 4000 ft up in the Alps north of Menton in the South of France - now that would be a good slope site!!

Been to St Agnes, but not flown, flew a Algebra 3M for its first flight at Cubert Common, landed in a cow pat which permanently stained the White Solarfilm...!!!!
I have not been to the West Country for years.......

ive never tried st ives phil.
i was up aggy yesterday evening though, test flew the minimus, probably not ideal conditions- a 7 ounce thermal hand launch glider and a 25 mph breeze, handled it admirably though, wasnt even flustered by the wind and penetration was excellent, heres a pic.....hopefully!

My favourite is Firle Beacon, loads of space for those little mishaps well have.

Not over keen on the Farm Site which is located on the Newhaven Road, lost 2 gliders there, don't get too far over into the quarry side, planes drop like stones.
