Help fixing glider please
Hi all
I recently took up slope soaring as a slightly more relaxing way to fly. I started off with an Easy Glider and more recently got myself an Aldij which I really love.
Unfortunately, a newbie error has left the poor Aldij in a bit of a state and I am looking at my first repair Sad
Trouble is, I am not sure how to go about repairing the fus and wings. I have had a look around but I cant find anything much of a guide to fixing gliders on the web.
Can anyone offer any assistance please? I dont want to start and make a mess of it.
Many thanks
Lee

Cheers,Lee

It's a glass glider but I think the wing is carbon covered.
There are some photos here...

Glass and Carbon, gee's you couldnt of picked worse materials to try and repair without experiance.

Planes are meant to crash, otherwise they'd have feathers

I had a chance for a closer look this evening...

So far:
Wing centre:
Damage to wing joiner tubes.
Above has deformed wing surface in 3 out of 4 locations.
Flap surface damaged at one end surface lifted off.

RH wing:
Crease about 6 from tip. Wing reasonably straight.
Joiner tubes look okay.
Aileron has 2 minor creases.

LH Wing:
Joiner tube appears bent (can't get remains of joiner out). Wing surface lifted.
Crease about 6 from tip.
Leading edge split (from tube moving in wing).
Aileron creased about 3 or 4 in from tip.

V tail:
Both wings minor damage. Chip in one. Slight crease in other.
Damage where control arms went in on both rudder-vators.

Fuse:
Various cracks near leading and trailing edge of wing.

That's quite a list!

Not sure what to d with the creases in the wings and control surfaces...? Any thoughts?

Cheers
Lee

Good to hear Lee.... Keep the repairs light and straight and it will likely fly as good as new.
