| How to stop motor starting up accidentally.... Brushed ESC's have an arming button ... brushless ESC's don't. But that's not all the story is it ... We've all when we admit it been caught out by a prop starting up when throttle is accidently knocked, pick up model and TX on neckstrap swings against body etc. etc. So how to disable the motor without getting inside plane and disconnecting motor leads or battery ? Some use the Heli's function of Throttle Hold / Cut ... but thats easily forgotten. I've tried to solve this one by thinking of switches ... but amps we pull on some motors are higher than a reasonably sized switch can handle. BINGO ! a post on another forum talked about battery leads to a socket on fuselage side and a plug to connect. So when you want to disarm all - pull plug out. When you want top fly put plug in. Now that's fine if you don't mind total power of ... but what I want is MOTOR power of and RX still on. I can sort RX via a standard JR switch harness between it and ESC BEC. Simple - brushless motor if you disconnect two leads will not run. So taking a Deans or similar - you take 2 leads each of ESC and motor outside fuz via a Deans connection. Pull the connection - motor is dead. Plug in to fly. I prefer that to having bullets outside as they can be wrong connected. Most of the crash is fine - it's the last mm and second that's not !....
