| Medium size scale'ish show stopper ! Since demise of my Skymaster and the slow rebuild .... I have been looking out for a replacement show stopper machine. To let you all in on a secret - my plan was to use the SM in 2012 to promote RC in Latvia by flying at meetings etc. around the country whenever possible. Now I need a replacement as the SM will never look concourse on the ground again..... Design wish-fors : Can be mono or Biplane ... but preference is for biplane Pitts or similar style. Medium size IC engined ... 60 glow / 15cc gasoline - basically well to overpowered ! Aerobatics capable but no need for F3A precision - this is for shows and effect rather than competition work. Inverted / loops inside and outside / rolls barrel and axial ... you can guess the score. Capable of "close-in" tear the wings of flight ... with my old SM in the 80's - I used to fly what I called the 50yard box ... OK in reality it was probably more like 100yds ..... but you see what I mean. But capable of slow docile flight as well with no catch-you-out vices. Easy build or part built ... as Latvia is poor on materials to source for builds. So any suggestions ... I don't need shop or supplier details unless the model is their own .... as I have to buy via online as economically as I can find ... So far I've looked at Edge, Pitts, Ultimate and various similar stuff ... but it's so hard to filter out the less suitable. It has to have "presence" which the SM had ... the public need to be attracted to the look and want to see it fly. The average box and wing is not in that league ..... and warbirds can be a mistake in such lands as Latvia where symbols on the planes can evoke emotional reactions !! ??????????????????? Most of the crash is fine - it's the last mm and second that's not !.... Ex Model Display flyer returning to hobby after 25yrs in the wilderness !.....http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Flysky_RC_radio/ if user of FlySky Radio where I hope to collect together helpful data | |||
