My latest vid, Alula
Here is my latest video, nothing brilliant but needed to just do one on the Alula. Wind was 0.5mph so nothing really to play with but it gives you the idea of how these things can fly, no added weights just built and flown Smile

If it won't fly you're not throwing hard enough.

lol, the CAMERA is fine thanks, rob was gutted at first but it is fine Smile I have found a better way of rendering since this video so i the next one will be a bit smoother. We are hoping to get to the hills when we have a decent wind so we can try out some tricks Exclamation and get them on the next video. get all of yours built and some videos on the tube, they are great fun and float for EVER!!
I look forward to your videos (for some ideas Wink) and to see your designs!

cheers.

I don't see the point in a powered version as they glide so well without. And adding a motor, esc, receiver and big batt just weighs it down and takes away a lot of it's elegance. The powered version you see in the video just would not fly. And after taking it all off, it didn't fly half as good as the others. You can see it on the video in some places flying quite eratic.

They also seem to catch thermals quite well too.

Some guy did one here http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthrea...96&page=65 but out of necessity. Still got to agree with Neptar, it is the completely wrong aircraft for this. I would have thought his necessity was really to buy the right aircraft, instead of butchering an excellent design. Complained he lives in Texas and no slopes (who would have thought :exclamationSmile

A bit like living on a canal and buying a surf board, I suppose you could always bolt a motor to that as well Big Grin

Designs..Humm Ill have to paint the amour plating now .. and the camera is going in the biggest tree I can find well out the way, I saw one get flattened on a you tube vid Big Grin
