RE: New model vote...
Look at that 100% in favour of a new modelTongue, I know only one vote has been cast but that's about the percentage the politicians work with and it gives them absolute authority. Only a week to build it though and we need a full build log.Thumbs up

'Nearly' 10mm for all the surfaces..slightly smaller elevators ( have different dinner plates now).....Big GrinBig GrinBig GrinBig Grin

And now sporting 15mm fuselarge....Thumbs up
That's enough for today (ran out of scalpel blades)....Big Grin

RE: New model vote...
Managing to get a bit done while on....err...'location'...Whistle

Take a 1m x1.5mm CF rod and cut in half for the spars.

Slot cut and CF rods let into wing and glued with CA, my building board is 10mm plate glass, and I use steel blocks to keep everything flat, as EPP is not the most compliant material...Big Grin

Slotting the False T.E. and the L.E method for more CF rod reinforcement.

The wing 'wraparound' is 2.5mm Glass rod, more 'boing' proof for the 'arrivals'....held in place with masking tape, check for square and wick CA around...job done.

Method for cutting the 45 degree bevel for elevators.

'Elevons' postioned with masking tape, then folded over, UHU Por applied where the glass tape is going to be applied.

Tape applied

On to the top, same procedure, keeping everything flat.

Trimmed up and finished..'bullet proof'........

Applying 'cross weave' tape is more tricky to centre than the 'linear weave' tape.
A quick centre mark on the tape.

Give's you perfect results everytime.........Big GrinBig Grin

I have found that a gentle ironing of tape helps it stay stuck to the EPP.

Too bad stupid isn't painful.

RE: New model vote...
I'm sorry, Tony, but after long consideration I have come to the conclusion that I have to vote NO.

Is this because I do not think that Reece needs a new one? Not at all. Is it because he should be building his own? Possibly, but no.
Environmental reasons? Do I consider that all the oil used to make the depron, and the electricity that will be consumed will be the last straw and will tip the planet over the edge. Na!

It is because someone mentioned politicians, and it seems that however sensible a policy is, there will always be some idiot who will make a noise and vote against it.

Next on the agenda is the 'alighting mechanism'...2mm CF rod carefully postioned, then tacked with CA,out with some Kevlar braid and bind all the joints, then soaked in CA.
A bit more track on this U/C to improve the ground handling.

Duly mounted an CA'd in the pre cut slot.

L.E glass taped with some additional tape in the 'stress' area.
Now ready for paint.

Onto the motor mounting and Lipo retention.

The boring bit.......Big Grin
A segment of an aerial sharpend on the inside, makes the perfect tool for cutting 'long holes'..Big Grin got this idea after watching a Cheese advert...

You can ponder how you get the cut part out....Wink

Another slight refinement, is a 1mm ply 'anti lipo strap crush' plate..Big Grin

Velcro to be added to the fuzz post paint, combined with the strap, a very solid fixing.....

And...........done.....RTF...Big Grin

Reece's now on 2.4..!!

A couple of O-Rings behing the motor, stop motor smacking into mount on a serious arrival......Big Grin

Boingulator fitted to U/C...Big Grin..a largish cable tie that pivot's on the axle, helps 'preserve' the U/C........Big Grin

Test flight......some time this evening.........Big GrinBig Grin
