| Not a good start to the hobby This is just an enquiry, has anyone else had problems with the RC model centre, based in Windermere. As I am new to this hobby, I bought £130 trainer powered glider from them in June. Till this day it hasn't worked and yet this company seem to be doing all they can to avoid replacing all refunding me. Just wondered if anyone else had problems with them. Regards Robert | |||

| RE: Not a good start to the hobby Sorry Richard for the delay in answering, I bought a trainer glider from the RC model centre Windermere in June, at a cost of £130. When I received it came with pairing instructions that were very simple to understand, however when trying to pair the item it would not pair. I contacted the model centre the next day, they tried a few quick fixes over the phone all unsuccessful and then requested the transmitter and receiver was sent back to them. on tracking the item back as soon as they had received them I e-mailed them to find out their plan of action. They said that they too had problems and were sending the items back to their suppliers for either repair or replacement. I quickly e-mailed them again to say I would not accept a repair as the item was brand-new and felt they should send out a new transmitter and receiver. The company totally ignored this and the situation went on well into July. I have now received the transmitter and receiver back to which they say there is nothing wrong with it but still it won't pair, I have been back in touch with them, asking for a full refund. They are being very evasive by saying they need the whole model sent back at my expense in order for them to send the model back off to their suppliers. However since this has taken place, I have been welcomed by local RC flying club who took a look at the model, and diagnosed that the pairing button on the receiver was missing , and also I think it's called the speed sensor was inop they have kindly donated another transmitter and receiver and speed sensor. The model now is working perfectly, thanks to those people who really enjoy this Hobby. So when I posted my article I was just wondering whether any others on this site had problems with these people as it was difficult being as I live in Birmingham and the company was in Windermere. | |||

| RE: Not a good start to the hobby Richard I hope this, post is allowed to go through, as I feel it is important that experiences such as mine are aired in order that others can be made aware when buying long-distance from the Internet. Regards Robert | |||

| RE: Not a good start to the hobby No I viewed this, but these type of posts get very contentious as there is only ever one side of what seems to be a private buyer/seller dispute and feel its best not to fuel them either way. Planes are meant to crash, otherwise they'd have feathers | |||
