lipo charging question.

lipo charging question.
I have a B6 pro charger.
when charging 3 cell packs they do reach a point where the display states "Battery Full".
Now, when charging cell packs, this never ever happens. The charger has a 2hrs pre set charge cycle and the default charging current is 0.1a.
Now i have just run one of my 4 cell packs through the charging cycle 3 time 9 with an hour inbetween ) to see if it reached the battery full stage. It didnt.
Question is, do I need to increase the charging current over 0.1A ? or would this not be safe ??
The 4 cell packs are all WinForce 2800mHa 30C packs.

RE: lipo charging question.
The standard charging rate for LiPo's is 1C (1 hour nominal rate). For a 2800mAh pack the 1C rate is 2.8A. If you charge at 0.1A it will take a fully discharged pack 28 hours to charge.

RE: lipo charging question.
That's right Stuart, the reason your charger cut out at 2 hours is because there is a default setting in the charger set at 2 hours to stop over charging. occasionally, I have one 3 cell 2200mah pack that cuts out at 2hrs when charging and I'm sure this is due to the charger trying to balance the cells. and then running out of time.
Cheers Hector

RE: lipo charging question.
He's right ... ( well in my limited knowledge ! )

I have the B6 charger and I change Amps to same as the mAh of the battery pack ... ie my 1000mAh get charged at 1A, my 1800mAh at 1.8A, my 2100mAh at 2.1A and so on ...

To change the amps rate ... plug in your LiPo pack ... yopu then have screen with type of cell, number of cells, amps rate ... voltage setting. Press Start once anmd Amps flash ... now press + / - to get to amps yopu want. Now press Start for long press until you get charge start confirm screen ....

Away you go.

Most of the crash is fine - it's the last mm and second that's not !.... Ex Model Display flyer returning to hobby after 25yrs in the wilderness !.....http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Flysky_RC_radio/ if user of FlySky Radio where I hope to collect together helpful data

RE: lipo charging question.
As well as setting the current as we have described, make sure you set the number of cells correctly.
