spitfire help!
Hi, i finally go my spitfire for christmas, but i need some help with the robart retracts. (didnt come with a manual)
There is 1 servo in the wing witch looks like it pulls the wheels in and out. But there is also a mini servo in the plane which looks like it pushed air into the wheels. Can someone explane how they work? And were would they plug into my ar7000????
Many thanks,
DanBig Grin

Hi.. either the retracts are mechanical... and will have a servo in the wing to operate them (connect that servo into any channel and test it) or they could be air operated in which case they could have an air valve operated by a servo in the fuz and an air reservoir. We need more info to be of any help.

Never had retracts but you normally plug them into channel 5 on a futaba setup, basically you want a switched channel where you can easily flick it to raise or lower the wheels.

It sounds like you have a mixture of mechanical and air ram retracts, they would all operate from the same switch so you may need some servo y-leads or mixing on the transmitter. The air retracts are fed from little cylinder which is normally pressurised using a bicycle pump and the servo operates a valve so that the air pressure pulls them up.

Hope that helps.

Too bad stupid isn't painful.
