Hi All

I've been happily screaming my Multiplex Funjet around the skies at home...with a 3w brushless pump on the back...admittedly it does go like stink and is great fun...vertical climb is amazing..I reckon it'd actually climb straight upward from my hand if I dared !

Anyhoo...my eye has just been caught by this new Tiger Shark...it seems to come in a kit with ducted fan included....in the video it looks great and it does 'sound' like a turbine !....

Anyone got one/tried one etc., shall I dump the Funjet and go Tiger...thoughts/comments appreciated...cheers

Kev

Steve and All.. its the PRICE that makes it Attractive and the Curves and it uses a low cost Hi Spec EDF and a kit thats Easy to Build

Gonna be the same format for the Javalin.. Ebay Sale for 24 QUID,
Vinyls will be additional but you dont need to buy them unless you want it Ding Dong Prang resistant

well its back out to the workshop and start sculpting

ooohhhh that looks impressive in the video. Especially when you consider that its only running on a 3 cell 1200mAh lipo with a continuous discharge 24 Amps.

the EnerGe Packs are only rated at 20C so dont expect to get more than 15-20 flight before the pack is dead !
on the Flip Side 20 Rocketing Flights though !!]

I heard this can do 150, that might be KM and not MPH! It seems that Kyosho where causing some noise with the 50000 rpm 45mm EDF unit at the Nuremburg International Toy Fair over the last few days

If you want 140mph - try the fibreglass Jepe Pyranha with a high spec motor and 70mm EDF.

This is what 140-150mph looks like, wow! http://www.ductedfans.com/media/Pyranha22_0.wmv

Different specifications: http://www.ductedfans.com/jets_elec...pyranha.html

Jepe's site: http://www.jepe.org/pyranha/pyranha.htm
Latest version is full fibre and basic kit is 248Euro but once you add everything - model will cost a small fortune!

i cant afford one also i have not reached that level of piloting skills and i dont think i ever will hahaha
Schubeller Fans are the creme de la creme but they cost an absolute fortune,
but the wemotec mini 480 and the mega is within the cost reach of the average man in the street

excellent Kit.. it gets my thumbs up

I'm using a 2.5 amp 11.1v Li-Po at the mo...that wasn't cheap..]

So will an extra cell, going up to 14.8 just go straight in...servos, esc, receiver and motor all happy with the extra (pardon my ignorance) ??

Yeah, your only worry maybe the ESC. Can it handle the extra 10 or so amps?
