I'll be goping because:-
1:- Its 3 miles from my house
2:- I'll be at it working on the gate, or preferably promoting our local club in a club stand.

StuartC...so you will be on the gates will you?

Any "RCTalk discount?" lol...

I am right in thinking theres two things going on - the 3D heli competition AND a large model airshow? the LMA and someone else will be there right?

Theres a few places i would like go see in scotland - so i was thinking of going up and including the show in with those things...otherwise i would'nt travel up so far for a show you see.

The weather is always a worry, even more so up north! Hopefully it will be ok tho.

Its a multishow:-
Its the SAA's Airshow ( regular sized Scale & non scale Jets & prop powered aircraft and choppers )
There are LMA models also displaying
Theres now a 3d heli compo running
& there will be some full sized aircraft ( what exactly I know not at this time )

Also trade stands and such.
If I am on the gate it wont be all the time, we do it in shifts ( if i do the gate at all this year )

Hope you enjoy the show. I have no idea weherte the club stand is going to be yet and probably wont until I turn up on Saturday, so you will just need to keep your eyes open ( it wont be a huge stand but should have something on it or arround it for " Stranrae & District Model Flying Club " )
Are you staying in the area or are you a day tripper ?

Been the show today - Was a nice, small show!

The weather was fantastic which made the event really enjoyable, I had a good time and took plenty of pics & video which i will upload a bit later.

There was a plane crash into the pits area but no one was seriously injured. 4 helis were also crashed (that i saw) but that was the 3D crew having a laugh! (A very expensive laugh if you ask me!)

Ive got a couple of vids i took while i escaped the club stand and some photos. I'll upload them later.
Atleast the got the weather was booked correctly this year ( im burnt to bits even with being in thestand most of the day).
attendance wise its been the better one of the past few years, and better supported by the trade stalls than before. I have seen a bigger nuber of display aircraft previously though but I presume after last years ultimately hopeless weather with zero flying that would have affected the willingness this year.
size wise, its the biggest show north of the border. it will get bigger as the attendance numbers rise ( strangely though its mostly people from outwith Scotland who attend it ).

I'm sure it takes a lot of effort to run a successful show, keep up the good work

Looking forward to seeing those photos.

I actually found a GWS C130 in one of the stands, brand new for £50. Ive hunted the UK for one for ages and no one was keeping the C130 version, nor was it being imported. An Irish bloke who was chatting to me at our club stand spied my CC Lee C130 which sparked the C130 discusion and how I had been looking for one and given up. He told me he seen one in the back of one of the trade stands and led me right to it. Fantastic.

Photos are uploaded to our club gallery, just the videos to upload ( 2 x 10 min vids ) then i'll post a link. I'll be getting more photos of other club members to add ( and borrowing the official photos too ) at a later date.

Ive got nothing to do with the organisation of the show but any feedback i get from people will be passed back to the SAA through our club. Most of the public I spoke to at our club stand enjoyed the event. only real gripe I kept hearing was the lack of places to get grub, drinks and ice cream. They only had one.

I was surprised how well that little ARTF E-flight Airbus performed in that breeze. There was a lot of models in the pitts that i didnt see flying, like the Jap F15. They must have been flying on the Sunday.
