I thought they did but i couldnt find anything suitable...you need a transmitter, rx, charger etc.

They do plenty of plane deals with esc & motors tho..

Could always check www.bmfaclassifieds.co.uk for a 2nd hand Transmitter. A Spektrum DX would be great...

im not a member of the bmfa yet so i cant use those forums

im really interested in getting a glider rather than anything else and i know beggers cant be choosers as they say but ive found a few models like i said before i just need someone to go over the pros and cons of each one with me so i can see which is the best deal so to speak

ill post the links to them here soon

thanks for all the help guys.. sorry to be a pain but the thing is im a student with two daughters and a house to keep, which has put me in a really tight spot financially..

i know without much money to throw at this hobby i wont have a great plane to start off with but i just want something to get the feel of what its like to fly an rc plane, obviously i dont expect anything outstanding but heres the criteria ive been trying to go by

a glider (reason being if i can keep it in the air without power then ill be some way towards understanding aerodynamics)

4 channel tx/rx (so i can reuse the set later on while im still low on money)

semi decent electronics (again hopefully reuseable)

the idea is when ive had enough practice with the glider i can hopefully set about making my own plane which i can xfer all the parts into and have a go at something different

if after ive made a plane and get into the hobby proper, ill start spending more money on the hobby instead of doing it the opposite way round and getting frustrated with flying or not as the case may be

To be honest you might get a better deal on ebay (never thought I would ever say that) but have a look under "RC Electric Gliders or the like" most from Hong Kong but might be a few options there.

incase anyone else is interested in giving thier opinion on this:

these are the planes ive been looking at and can afford:

Skylark:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI....hlink:top:en

Not sure what this one is called: (call it plane 2)
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI....TRK:MEWAX:IT

Sky hawk:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI....TRK:MEWAX:IT

if you can basically give each a quick look and tell me which is the best plane of the three id appreciate it a lot thanks guys

None of them tell you what frequency the transmitter is, you should ask and insist that you get a 35mhz version.

From the brief look and read of each model, No 3 looks like it would get my vote.

i think only the first says anything about the tx and that one is an fm model..

to be honest its not something ive read up on yet so im going to look into the limitations of an fm tx and see if i can live with that..

ill be eventually buying a much better tx in the future so its only got to last a little while and be functional to a degree

thanks for the help :)

Yeah the no name one looks great but a bit suspect in the spec,as it states its 4 channel (inc aileron) but only comes with 2 servo's also a 180 motor??

The first one is at least in the UK bonus

I like the skyhawk myself.

They need to be 35mhz FM to be legal or 27mhz, however it hasnt stopped others being sold here in the past.

The only thing that worries me is you can assumme they will have very cheap RX's and therefore "possibly" prone to the dreaded glitches.

yeah i can gather having a radio disruption at the height these things go to could be problematic to say the least lol...

i do like the look of the no name one myself.. the wing shape is very pleasing on the eye for me..

but as you said it seems a bit wierd it only has two servos..

argh its starting to give me a headache lol.. dunno which to pick :S
